Home Mission

Established in 1940, the Northwest Baptist Home Mission (NBHM) is an independent institution committed to establishing, supporting, and strengthening Baptist churches in fellowship with Baptist Network Northwest.

The Mission & Vision of NBHM

We are dedicated to establishing and strengthening churches by:

  1. Identifying Unreached Areas – Researching and locating regions, cities, or neighborhoods where existing churches are not effectively reaching people with the Gospel.
  2. Equipping Church Planters – Recruiting and training church planter-pastors who are strong in biblical preaching and discipleship, committed to planting Christ-centered, New Testament Baptist churches that seek fellowship with our association.
  3. Supporting Struggling Churches – Providing assistance to stabilize churches in need when requested.

We encourage churches to take an active role in planting new churches by:

  1. Partnering in Church Planting – Encouraging churches to adopt a mother-church model or collaborate through joint sponsorship with NBHM.
  2. Mobilizing Financial Support – Enlisting churches and individuals to invest in church planting efforts.
  3. Promoting Evangelism and Missions – Stimulating interest and involvement in evangelism and home missions through the ministry of our personnel and board.
  4. Encouraging Prayer – Motivating our network to pray faithfully for mission churches and church planters.

We guide church planters and the church planting process by staying rooted in biblical principles and mission practices, mindful that:
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” (Luke 12:48)

We are committed to managing the resources entrusted to us with integrity by:

  1. Maintaining Sound Financial Practices – Adhering to best business and accounting standards.
  2. Using Funds Wisely – Ensuring financial resources are used effectively to support churches and church planters.
  3. Providing Transparent Oversight – Conducting regular board reviews and audits and reporting annually to the Baptist Network Northwest.
